Now that you are ready to go on that family vacation you will want to organize and pack your luggage. When packing for a family vacation there are a few things that could help you in getting well organized.
If you have children accompanying you it is best that you get them involved in helping pack for themselves. This way each will be able to pack their favourite toys and select their favorite clothes leaving you free to pack the other items. Of course this depends on their age, but they can help pack their own small bags to carry in the car or airplane.
You will also need to pack plenty of snacks for the children, as hungry kids can get cranky. Try and pack individually packaged snacks. If packing fruits, try and cut them in bite sized pieces before packing them in ziplock baggies, this will make them easier to eat. Try and avoid foods that are sticky or which could cause a mess.
Pack a change of clothes for the children in carryon bags and if you are traveling by plane, try and pack at least two changes of clothes for everyone in carryon bags. This would help if your luggage is misplaced or delayed since you would have a change of clothes with you.
Pack plenty of toys and games for the children to occupy themselves while traveling, this will help in distracting them and pass the travel time very easily.
If traveling by an airline, try and research as to what food and amenities can be purchased on board. This will help you carry items that the children could use while flying if the airline does not provide for them.
Last, but not the least, you should hold back some toys for the return trip, as new toys will interest the children more than toys they have been playing with for the past few days.
